A product-specific checklist brought firmware, connectivity, accessories, labels and packaging into one release decision.

The brief
The buyer needed more than a cosmetic check. The order combined hardware, firmware, wireless pairing, accessories and market-specific packaging, so the inspection had to reflect how the finished device would actually be received and used.
The challenge
Generic electronics checklists miss product-specific failure points. The approved firmware, pairing sequence, charging behaviour, included accessories and packaging version all had to be defined before the inspector reached the factory.
Work completed
- Converted the specification and approved unit into a step-by-step inspection checklist.
- Confirmed the firmware version and repeated the agreed pairing and function sequence.
- Checked ports, buttons, charging, visible assembly, accessories and product identification.
- Compared labels, manuals and carton contents with the approved market version.
- Separated observable inspection findings from tests that required laboratory authority.
Evidence and findings
- The defined core functions could be repeated using the buyer-approved procedure.
- Accessory and document checks identified inconsistent pack contents in part of the inspected quantity.
- Visible workmanship findings were classified against agreed defect definitions.
- Specialist compliance claims remained outside the inspection conclusion and were assigned to qualified documentation review.
The outcome
The buyer received one structured view of product condition, function and pack contents, with clear limits around compliance testing. The factory could correct the packing inconsistency before release.
